Why They Hate Us

Brigitte Gabriel, a Lebanese Christian, former news anchor of World News for Middle East television and the founder of AmericanCongressforTruth.com, explains the rage of the Muslim world for America and the West:

"As a victim of Islamic terror, I was amazed when I saw Americans waking up on September 12, 2001, and asking themselves "Why do they hate us?" The psychoanalyst experts were coming up with all sort of excuses as to what did we do to offend the Muslim World. But if America and the West were paying attention to the Middle East they would not have had to ask the question. Simply put, they hate us because we are defined in their eyes by one simple word: "infidels."

America cannot effectively defend itself in this war unless and until the American people understand the nature of the enemy that we face. Even after 9/11 there are those who say that we must “engage” our terrorist enemies, that we must “address their grievances”. Their grievance is our freedom of religion. Their grievance is our freedom of speech. Their grievance is our democratic process where the rule of law comes from the voices of many not that of just one prophet. It is the respect we instill in our children towards all religions. It is the equality we grant each other as human beings sharing a planet and striving to make the world a better place for all humanity. Their grievance is the kindness and respect a man shows a woman, the justice we practice as equals under the law, and the mercy we grant our enemy. Their grievance cannot be answered by an apology for who or what we are."

Bin Laden Is Lousy Leader Says Al Qaeda Member

Evidently the Al Qaeda troops haven't gotten the word that attacking them in the Middle East has made them stronger. At least one thinks that Bin Laden is a bonehead who has led them into one catastrophe after another, doesn't listen to anyone who disagrees with him, and wastes his people in fruitless operations. That's according to a 2002 letter from an Al Qaeda terrorist named Adl that was intercepted and now analyzed by the US Army's counterterror center at West Point.

Adil whines that Bin Laden "PUSHES YOU RELENTLESSLY AND WITHOUTCONSIDERATION AS IF HE HAS NOT HEARD THE NEWS AND AS IF HE DOES NOTCOMPREHEND THE EVENTS. TO ABSOLVE MY CONSCIENCEB EFORE ALLAH, AND TOANNOUNCE MY INNOCENCE IN FRONT OF ALLAH, I SAY TODAY WE MUSTCOMPLETELY HALT ALL EXTERNAL ACTIONS UNTIL WE SIT DOWN AND CONSIDERTHE DISASTER WE CAUSED. ... MY BELOVED BROTHER, STOP ALL FOREIGN ACTIONS, STOP SENDING PEOPLE TOCAPTIVITY, STOP DEVISING NEWO PERATIONS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ORDERSCOME OR DO NOT COME FROM ABU-ABDALLA (TN: BIN-LADEN). OURADHERENTS HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN US AND IN OUR ABILITY TO MANAGE THEACTION, AND THEY WONDER, WHAT HAS BEFALLEN US."

I guess that's the problem with joining terror groups: Their leaders are so fanatic. And that will be their undoing, as Adil so rightly notes.

Punk Talk From Bin Laden

Muslim terror boy Osama Bin Laden says in a tape delivered to Al Jazeera, the broadcaster of choice for Al Qaeda, that new terror attacks are coming to America, he will never be taken alive, and offers a truce to America. It's punk talk.

Bin Laden is a cowardly weenie. All this talk about never being taken alive is punk bravado. Every time he has had a brush with death, he wasn't anxious to become better acquainted. Osama has shown himself to be awfully fleet of foot when death is about and kept a large posse of bodyguards to keep harm far away. When American bombs started peppering Tora Bora, he was the first to flee, radioing back to his troops to fight to the death. Fighting to the death is for Al Qaeda chumps, not for Bin Laden. This follows the elitist tradition of Arab Muslim armies, where the leaders do not dirty their hands with combat and care nothing for their troops.

If new terror is coming to America from Bin Laden, he certainly is taking his time. It's been five years since his last attack on the American homeland. Al Qaeda has been whittled down to nothing. While nobody doubts that Bin Laden would love to massacre more Americans, the last five years proves that he lacks the muscle to make it happen.

His offer of a truce demonstrates that he's on the ropes. Bin Laden is following Koranic tradition, which allows jihadis to make a truce of ten years to regroup to renew the jihad at an advantage. All this talk of truce and never being taken alive provides an interesting view into Bin Laden's frame of mind, which has turned sharply pessimistic. He wouldn't be talking about truces and being captured if he thought he was winning.

Bin Laden is too much of a weenie to take his own life. If we don't obliterate him with a missile from a Predator, our Delta operators are likely to snatch him in the night from some Waziristani hut and bring him back to America with a big pee stain down the front of his thobe. I give it 50-50 odds: death by Hellfire or capture a la Saddam.

Cartoon Jihad Comes To DC

The Cartoon Jihad came to in Washington, DC last Saturday with a protest at the Danish Embassy by the New Black Panther Party. It was counter-protested by the Freepers, doing the work of the angels in contesting the commons so that hate speech and general idiocy do not maintain a monopoly there. The first blogger out the gate with coverage is one of the Freepers, Redhunter, with a good post full of photos. You'll doubtless be shocked, shocked that the demonstration devolved into a anti-Zionist rant.

The Roots Of Muslim Rage

For some background on what drives the Muslim rage behind the Cartoon Jihad, it's worth reading this sixteen year old article in The Atlantic Monthly magazine, "The Roots Of Muslim Rage," written by Bernard Lewis, well known Middle Eastern historian, in 1990:

"What is truly evil and unacceptable is the domination of infidels over true believers. For true believers to rule misbelievers is proper and natural, since this provides for the maintenance of the holy law, and gives the misbelievers both the opportunity and the incentive to embrace the true faith. But for misbelievers to rule over true believers is blasphemous and unnatural, since it leads to the corruption of religion and morality in society, and to the flouting or even the abrogation of God's law. This may help us to understand the current troubles in such diverse places as Ethiopian Eritrea, Indian Kashmir, Chinese Sinkiang, and Yugoslav Kossovo, in all of which Muslim populations are ruled by non-Muslim governments. It may also explain why spokesmen for the new Muslim minorities in Western Europe demand for Islam a degree of legal protection which those countries no longer give to Christianity and have never given to Judaism. Nor, of course, did the governments of the countries of origin of these Muslim spokesmen ever accord such protection to religions other than their own. In their perception, there is no contradiction in these attitudes. The true faith, based on God's final revelation, must be protected from insult and abuse; other faiths, being either false or incomplete, have no right to any such protection."

If you were wondering how Muslims reconcile their hypocrisy of violently protesting the Danish cartoons while publishing with no apology vile cartoons about other religions, well, the answer is that Muslims see no hypocrisy there. Islam is right and everything else is wrong. It's completely right to protect Islam because it's the only true faith. It's completely right to denigrate other religions because they are false and deserve contempt. Got that?

Muslims Put Bounty On Danish Cartoonists Heads

Muslim prayer leader and thug, Mohammed Yousaf Qureshi, announced a bounty for killing a Danish cartoonist to a thousand Muslims gathered outsided the Mohabat Khan mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan. Qureshi will give twenty-five grand and a car to anyone who kills the cartoonists, while a local jeweler's association will kick in a million bucks. This death threat is the latest in a series of equally stupid and violent actions taken by Muslims in a Cartoon Jihad reacting to a set of cartoons depicting Mohammed in a Danish newspaper.

"This is a unanimous decision by all imams (prayer leaders) of Islam that whoever insults the prophet deserves to be killed and whoever will take this insulting man to his end, will get this prize," Qureshi said.

Lunch With Mohammed

Georges Sada, a former Iraqi air force general, relates a story he heard from a cabbie who drove him around Baghdad in his book, Saddam's Secrets:

The taxi driver picked up a nice-looking young man who had no particular destination. "I have some time to spare so just drive around for a while and I'll pay the fare," he said. They drove around for half an hour when the young man said, "Okay, that's enough. Stop here." He paid the fare and said, "I'm sorry it didn't happen today. You and I were supposed to have lunch with Mohammed, the prophet." The young man pulled down his shirt to expose the explosive vest he was wearing underneath. He was looking for targets, like police officers or an American patrol so that he could detonate himself and kill them all.
