Why We Have A Second Ammendment

She knew him from a previous job so it wasn't a complete surprise when he showed up at her door near Sandpoint, Idaho at 5 PM to ask her about jobs. However, it was a surprise when she and her room-mate found him hiding in her bushes later that night. His truck broke down, he said. He needed a ride home. He was drunk.

She winced but agreed. She took along a .380 handgun. Just in case.

She made it into his driveway when he attacked her. He grabbed her by the throat, tried to take her car keys, and force her out of her car. He told her she was coming with him. She was scared she might die. She shot him and ran for help. She is 34 years old.

Christopher Michael Schmidt, 42, died at the scene of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Schmidt was a registered sex offender convicted in 1989 in Sonoma County, California, of assault to commit rape and sodomy. Schmidt's blood-alcohol content was .26 percent, three times Idaho's legal limit for driving. Schmidt's pickup truck was found near his would be victim's home with its engine intentionally disabled.

No charges were filed against the shooter who the police say acted in self defense.

What do you think would have happenned if it was illegal for her to own a gun?
